In the fresh, funny and heart-warming prequel to Sione's Wedding, Pacific Island teenagers and best friends Michael, Albert, Sefa and Stan come of age in inner-city Auckland in 1984.
The boys go to their first concert, but an involuntary reaction from Albert causes city-wide carnage, and sees them sharing secrets that will change their lives forever.
The Duckrockers are ready to rock, but when they face off against an actual dance crew, they realise what rookies they really are.
The Duckrockers get their first gig! But can they pull off an ambitious new dance move? Could Michael’s smart mouth put the whole show in jeopardy?
Stan lures the boys to a girls school for a mysterious masterclass — and to stop Lupe leaving the crew! But the boys are more interested in what's for lunch...
When Stan learns his dad is coming to Auckland, he takes off to live in the streets. The boys don't think he'll survive the big bad city all by himself, so they leave home to be with their mate.
Sefa asks Leilani on a date, Lupe makes an embarrassing move, Albert stumbles upon a surprising strategy and the girls go on an urgent assignation that sees them busted for having too much fun!
When the Flaw Rubberz gang up on Leilani, Sefa vows revenge… and the Duckrockers challenge their rivals to a battle for her honour - and a turf war for Grey Lynn Park.
An overwhelmed Albert grapples with grief and guilt, while the rest of the Duckrockers face down the Flaw Rubberz, and Lupe hatches a scheme to shame their rivals.
