Adapted from the novel The Seven Relics of ill Omen by Weiyu. In ancient times, a mysterious substance descended upon Fengzi Ridge. Capable of parasitic invasion, it twists the human heart and lures its host into evil. Now, these relics of ill omen have reemerged, unleashing a series of bizarre and gruesome murders. Five ordinary yet passionate young people—Mu Dai, Luo Ren, Thirteen-Thousand, Yan Hongsha, and Cao Yanhua—are successively drawn into this crisis through their own fateful encounters. They form the "Phoenix Squad" and embark on a perilous quest to subdue these ill omens. Amid life-and-death trials, Luo Ren and Mu Dai heal each other's wounds and forge a genuine bond. Through a long and arduous journey fraught with danger, the five overcome relentless challenges, their friendship tempered and deepened in the fires of adversity.

Grisly murders once rocked Luoma Lake. Now, decades later, Mu Dai travels to Wujiang to meet an informant with new details on the cold case.

After meeting him on the way to Wujiang, Mu Dai teams up with Cao Yanhua to trail a man looking into the Luoma Lake case and gets another lead.

While pressing Luo Ren about his interest in the case, Mu Dai discovers a shocking link between him, the Xiaoshang River incident and her boss.

As Madam Hong shares what she knows about the Luoma Lake murders, she recalls a crucial run-in and reveals her motive for investigating.

When Luo Ren's cousin gets violent, Mu Dai notices something unusual on her skin. Thirteen-Thousand tries to get time off work for him and Cao Yanhua.

After getting Pingting medical help, Mu Dai and the others battle the parasite while avoiding infection. Luo Ren's reckless decision angers Mu Dai.

Thirteen-Thousand goes with Luo Ren to his village, convinced it holds answers to the ill omen. Mu Dai applies to be a treasure hunter's bodyguard.

While Mu Dai and Hongsha recover from their injuries, the group sets up camp together. Feeling left out, Cao Yanhua wonders if he's being replaced.

A mutated clam attacks Cao Yanhua, prompting a rescue. As the group considers the presence of a dark relic, Mu Dai asks Luo Ren an intimate question.

In Mighty Kun's lab, the team makes a significant breakthrough in their fight against the parasites. Mu Dai grows uneasy over her missing memories.

Luo Ren and the crew race to reach Mu Dai as she accompanies Hongsha and Grandfather Yan through the mountains — and unknowingly into danger.

Luo Ren confronts Hongsha's grandfather and gets a disturbing confession. The team sets off again, but an alarming encounter forces them to split up.

While Mighty Kun researches an ancient legend that could help stop the ill omens, Thirteen-Thousand and Cao Yanhua get valuable intel from their captor.

Thirteen-Thousand joins Hongsha in the mountains, while the rest rush to deliver the relic to Mighty Kun. Mu Dai and Luo Ren discuss their feelings.

The team uncovers another relic while searching for Mu Dai. Luo Ren learns the truth behind Mu Dai's personality shifts from Madam Hong.

When a darker side of herself takes over, Mu Dai flees Lixi and saves a woman who offers her both a job and a chance at a new life in return.

Accused of murder, Mu Dai seeks out Luo Ren to help her escape, but he urges her to stay and investigates, soon finding a link to the mysterious letter.

With Ma Chao's information, Thirteen-Thousand joins the squad to investigate the murder case framing Mu Dai, which may be tied to a mysterious relic.

After learning Xiang Silan's true identity, a distraught Mu Dai flees as her friends try to comfort her. Luo Ren presses their captive for more intel.

After receiving a suspicious message, Cao Yanhua heads to his hometown to look for a friend. The others follow when they can't contact him.
