Hope is on death row.
A former medical school dropout claiming to be able to cure terminal illnesses is sentenced to death for the murder of 17 people. Is he a monstrous killer, or a savior holding the cure for humanity?
There have been more than ten disappearances reported in Guam lately. While investigating, the police arrest Lee Woo Gyeom as a suspect. He confesses that he killed 17 people, and Prosecutor Cha Yi Yeon takes the case. The case looks simple, but Woo Gyeom claims something strange. Meanwhile, Woo Gyeom asks Attorney Park Han Jun to take his case.
Han Jun suspects both Woo Gyeom's abilities and his intentions. However, after meeting an actual patient who was treated and cured by Woo Gyeom, Han Jun decides to take on the case and win it. Meanwhile, persuading Woo Gyeom's patients to testify in court proves to be difficult, and Woo Gyeom makes an unexpected move of his own to secure victory.
In an effort to change the direction of the trial, Han Joon argues that Woo Gyeom’s medical work is a legitimate research breakthrough rather than a criminal act. As the legal battle intensifies, both sides present conflicting evidence, and the court is left to decide the fate of Woo Gyeom’s groundbreaking treatment.
A potential breakthrough occurs when Woo Gyeom’s blood is linked to miraculous recoveries. Han Joon works to secure a public demonstration of the treatment, hoping to change perceptions. Meanwhile, outside forces work to control the growing media frenzy and the powerful implications of Woo Gyeom’s medical discoveries.
Chairman Chae offers Han Joon a deal that could save his daughter, with Woo Gyeom’s treatment at the center. However, as new revelations surface, Han Joon faces difficult moral decisions and growing pressure. The stakes rise as both political and personal forces collide, threatening to derail their plans.
As the investigation deepens, Yi Yeon uncovers troubling details that suggest Woo Gyeom’s past is more complicated than anyone thought. Han Joon, desperate to save his daughter, turns to Woo Gyeom for help, but they must navigate a dangerous path fraught with ethical dilemmas and mounting risks.
Woo Gyeom and Han Joon are forced to go on the run, pursued by those who will stop at nothing to control the cure. As they face danger at every turn, Yi Yeon uncovers deeper connections to illegal practices. Time is running out, and Woo Gyeom’s health begins to deteriorate.
Woo Gyeom’s troubled past comes to light, revealing dark secrets that have driven his actions. As the final confrontation looms, he makes a bold move to confront those who wronged him. In the aftermath, Han Joon is left to grapple with the consequences of Woo Gyeom’s actions and the cure’s future.
