Dungeon Masters
Our heroes, magical agents of the Order of the Ninth Quill, are hurled into the lethal expanse of the Anauroch Desert: a shattered wasteland still radiating the catastrophic magic of Netheril’s fall. A fragile, shimmering barrier is all that stands between Faerûn and the arcane horrors buried beneath the dunes—and this safeguard is failing. If that wasn't enough, our adventurer’s journey is anything but quiet. On the one hand, they must contend with the fanatical Bringers of the Cosmic Dawn, who seek to tear the barrier down in pursuit of their own vision; on the other - the Red Wizards of Thay, who maneuver in the shadows, hungry to seize the arcane power trapped behind the barrier’s walls. Even the desert itself seems intent on killing them. One problem: This ragtag team still has a lot of learning to do. On the job learning...
Ambushed by a Living Spell before they even leave the workshop, our heroes head into the Anauroch and are struck by a shared vision of alien hordes destroying Faerûn.
A brutal trek leads to the lost expedition's wreaked campsite, where a strange rival faction searches for otherworldly answers.
Split up and out of their depth, the party discovers that old ties, new enemies, and unlikely allies don't always look the way you'd expect. Just as freedom comes within reach, something far bigger than them decides to intervene.
The chase becomes a scramble for survival as hunters become the hunted, and something enormous stirs beneath their feet. Some threats can be outrun. This one can't.
True to form, the party splits up once more, chasing down the people, and the perils, that matter most. A rescue against the clock. A pursuit of something far too massive to reason with. Somehow, against every possible odd, it might just be enough.
With the dust settling, the past catches up to the present as one member's history comes back to haunt him, costing more than anyone expected. Meanwhile, the group presses on toward answers in a city long left for dead, unaware that someone else has already found them first.
The Red Wizards of Thay are one step closer to unleashing an arcane apocalypse. With time running out, the party crosses paths with an unexpected face from their past and commits to a course of action more desperate than any before it.
It all comes down to this: the Misfits journey into Netheril's buried past to save one of their own, battle the Phaerimm, and stop the Thayans from claiming the Anauroch, only to have a shattering truth change everything.
Years after their journey through the Anauroch, the group reunites for a final favor: tracking down one very specific, very elusive creature for an old friend who claims his time is running out. What starts as a strange errand through the Underdark turns into something far stranger...
