Three hundred years ago, Bai Qian stood on the Zhu Xian Terrace, turned around and jumped off without regret. Ye Hua stood by the bronze mirror to witness with his own eyes her death. Bai Qian disguises herself as a man named Si Yin to become High God Mo Yuan's disciple in Mount Kunlun. High Goddess Yao Guang, infatuated with Mo Yuan, kidnaps Si Yin because of his favoritism towards the disciple. Meanwhile, an unexpected visitor comes for Si Yin in Mount Kunlun.
Si Yin persuades Ling Yu to come with her to Qingqiu to join in the fun at a celebration. She takes Ling Yu there through a shortcut, but they are intercepted by the Ghost Tribe, and the Ghost Lord insists on bringing them back to the Great Ziming Palace.
Qing Cang sends out an invitation for the Acknowledgment Ceremony of Ling Yu becoming his godson to humiliate Mount Kunlun. Si Yin, who has become friends with Li Jing, gets tricked into admitting that she is a woman to him. Mo Yuan then goes to the Ghost Realm to save Ling Yu and Si Yin but is encountered by the Ghost Tribe.
Li Jing goes to see Si Yin at Mount Kunlun only to be chased out by Die Feng. He escapes to a sealed cave where a phoenix is kept and gets injured. Si Yin tells him to stay in the cave while he recuperates and brings Xuan Nv to him, not knowing that Xuan Nv has tricks up her sleeves.
Xuan Nv goes back to Ghost Realm with Li Jing. Li Jing is almost killed by his father, but he is saved by Xuan Nv as she promises to help Ghost Tribe. Meanwhile, with Mo Yuan's injury not fully recovered, he brings Si Yin out to clear her mind from the incident. Right before the war is about to start, Xuan Nv is thrown back to Mount Kunlun and she continues her plot against Heavenly Tribe.
Thanks to the formation map that Xuan Nv stole, the Ghost Tribe easily breaks the Heavenly Tribe's formation, and Ling Yu is killed. In order to break out of this predicament, someone else must sacrifice and lure Ghost Tribe's troops away to give them one last chance to survive. Meanwhile, the Ghost Lord wants Mo Yuan to die with the Donghuang Bell that Mo Yuan made himself.
Devastated over the death of her master, Si Yin makes him drink the blood from her heart to protect his body from rotting. Upon hearing Die Feng tell her about the Ghost Tribe's sacred item, the Soul Jade, which can preserve the body of the dead, she sets out to see Li Jing in the Great Ziming Palace.
Consort Le Xu gives birth to a seemingly extraordinary baby, who is deemed the crown prince of the Heavenly Tribe. Bai Qian brings Mo Yuan’s body back to Qingqiu and keeps his body preserved there. 70,000 years later, the world has forgotten about Mo Yuan and Qing Cang. Bai Qian is betrothed to Prince Sang Ji, but she doesn’t want to marry him, and Sang Ji is in love with her maid, Shao Xin.
Heavenly Emperor's second son, Sang Jin, wants to break off his engagement with Bai Qian and marry her maid, Shao Xin, instead. Even though Bai Qian doesn't want to marry him either, this causes an issue on both sides. Lian Song then comes up with an idea to make sure that the intermarriage between the two sides can still push through.
Sang Ji pleads with his father to let Shao Xin live. Upon Lian Song's suggestion, Ye Hua is bestowed a marriage with Bai Qian instead, while Sang Ji gets exiled and demoted. Bai Qian goes to seal Qing Cang away again only to be cursed to suffer in Mortal Realm without her memories.
Emperor Dong Hua goes to Mount Kunlun and finds Feng Jiu with a scroll that Bai Qian left behind, causing him to suspect Bai Qian’s connection to Mount Kunlun. Ye Hua goes to the Mortal Realm to fight the Golden Lion Beast. He succeeds but is stuck in snake form due to the beast’s power. Bai Qian finds him and brings him home to keep him as a pet, unaware that it’s actually her new fiancé.
Feng Jiu wishes to repay the kindness of Emperor Dong Hua, so she leaves Qingqiu and pretends to be the fairy maid in Taichen Palace. As she becomes the fairy maid in Taichen Palace, being innocent, she is given a hard time by Zhi Yue and other fairy maids.
Ye Hua reveals his true form as a black dragon in front of everyone in order to save Bai Qian from a bully, but he flies away afterwards. He consults Lian Song on how to make her like him, and they decide to play the sympathy card. Since Bai Qian has no memories of herself and doesn't know her name, Ye Hua gives her the name Su Su.
After Yan Zhi shows Li Jing Yuqing Kunlun Fan that she found at Mount Junji, he rushes out to find Si Yin, ignoring Xuan Nv. Meanwhile, Feng Jiu tries to repay Emperor Dong Hua's kindness. Su Su asks Ye Hua to give himself to her in exchange for sheltering him while he is injured.
The Heavenly Emperor marries Su Jin in a plan to appease the division leaders. Su Jin then asks His Majesty to arrange for Ye Hua to go back home with her to pay respects to her ancestors. When the Heavenly Emperor visits Ye Hua's palace to relay the orders, Ye Hua is forced to immediately return to Heavenly Realm, leaving Su Su confused and lost.
Princess Yan Zhi helps Ling Yuan escape from the Arctic Prison. Meanwhile, Ye Hua and Lian Song accompany Su Jin to pay respects to her ancestors in order to persuade the division leaders to help them quell the Merfolk Tribe's rebellion. Ye Hua is planning to use this opportunity to fake his death and abandon everything to be with Su Su.
Ye Hua returns to Su Su after being away for a year and nine months. Upset over his absence, Su Su tells Ye Hua to take her along with him this time. Ye Hua obliges and brings her to the Immortal Realm, where they run into Die Feng and are subsequently brought to Crystal Palace in Chang Sea.
When Ye Hua finds out Su Su is pregnant, he realizes he must hurry with his plan to leave the Heavenly Realm. Ye Hua and Die Feng visit Chang Sea Water Lord and convince him to start a war with the Merfolk Tribe. After getting approval from His Majesty to use the Heavenly Palace's troops, Ye Hua sets off for the Chang Sea to action his plan to fake his death.
As Ye Hua is severely wounded by the Soul-Cutting Blade, Su Su breaks through his magical barrier. After the Heavenly Emperor finds out that Su Su bears Ye Hua's child, he locks her up in a deserted palace. Meanwhile, Xuan Nv is also pregnant with Li Jing's child, but she has a miscarriage. However, she wants to keep it a secret from Li Jing.
Worried about Su Su's situation in Heavenly Palace, Ye Hua returns there even though he hasn't fully recovered from his battle injuries. Ye Hua acts cold to Su Su in public in order to keep her safe and tells her to be careful in what she says and does. However, Su Jin sees through his facade and informs Heavenly Emperor about it.
