After a 4 year stay in London, Jen has come home to bury her mother. Her boyfriend of two years, Tom, accompanies her home. Her former flame, Scobie, meanwhile is struggling with what to do in a place that has no jobs--and no place for him now that Jen has moved on. Both Scobie and Jen are at a crossroads and during the weekend they will make some pivotal choices that will determine their futures.
Scobie has his bags packed for Australia when Jennifer arrives back in town for a family funeral with a new boyfriend in tow.
Scobie's doubts about leaving grow, much to the consternation of his mother Angela and her boyfriend Cliff.
