老家宜兰的江陈博（温升豪 饰）几个月前到台北闯荡，由于他个性单纯，工作刚几个月被公司仼命为副总，别人认为这是一个圈套，只是他本人蒙在鼓里而已。公司内部员工尔虞我诈，涉世未深的陈博深感工作压力巨大，面对蜘蛛网般纷乱的人事关系，他处理起来无从下手，一度产生辞职回老家的念头，但他的热恋情人高级白领黄国芬（隋棠 饰）可不这样想。回到宜兰后，他就是个地道的农民，因自家果园生虫害，他自告奋勇向父亲保证可以查治，但一出家门他早把一切忘到爪畦国了，最终返回台北。陈博的妹妹素馨（郭采洁 饰），怀惴少女美好的理想也来到台北寻梦，随即被富家子弟林英杰（杨一展 饰）追求，不料却遭他人算计让两人的感情生变......
一大早陈博站在公布栏前，看着自己即日起升任力翔开发执行副总，激动莫名，想不到才三个月总经理就这么有眼光的拔擢他，但同事们私底下议论纷纷，讪笑的人居多。素馨穿好杆弟的服装，在球场大厅准备区开心接到陈博的电话，担心以为他又过不了这个月要来借钱。陈博告诉她升主任的好消息并要她趁暑假开始来台北玩，他要好好招待她。素馨说对台北不熟，陈博说到了台北打手机给他就会去接她。女模和陈博的约会是到了一个已经装潢好的新房子，女模说这里是帮陈博新租的房子，也就是他们之后的爱巢，他已经是副总了应该住好一点，陈博被灌了迷汤也觉得自己理当如此，女模也为陈博打点了一些行头。这一夜他们在新的爱巢里描绘未来，也享受在当下…深夜。英杰在集团办公室里跟子公司总经理谈公司事务。总经理向英杰报告已经升迁一个没有包袱的员工，作为精简整个开发公司人事的主导者，英杰转达总裁希望愈快愈好而且没有后遗症的意见，并要求明早与之碰面。总经理离开后，疲累的英杰站在落地窗前看着月色，想着素馨。 阿胜叔的儿子国志在校门口等着素馨结业典礼结束之后，就要带着她一起出发去台东玩和拍照，顺便是工作，沿路要检查道路有无毁损，他和素馨在一个月前就约好了，整整已经一个月了，都在满怀期待这天。素馨看到国志才想起那时的约定，素馨跟国志抱歉说老哥在台北有事需要他去帮忙，国志说那他开车载他去台北，素馨说火车票已经订好了，要国志好好去工作吧。国志失望说那至少让他送到火车站吧？陈博到了办公室被总经理带到和英杰碰面的高级餐厅，第一次见到陈博的英杰，看着他头发有点零乱、西装显的size小了一号笑了，内心想找到这样的人就对了。英杰要陈博好好做，所有的福利都给他，派车派秘书，住房补贴，薪水调了三倍，陈博很想问自己到底哪里好值得公司这样栽培，但他话吞下去，他想天底下多少主管都还不是因为运气好，连总统当选都是。所以他也一样，一定就是运气好，别问那么多，免得高层真的思考为什么要升他，那就不好了。而英杰内心的想法则是裁员要快而且要没有后遗症，所以提醒力翔开发总经理，在这段时间满足那个大头一切所需，让他有对公司效忠的意愿，而不会出现对即将被裁的员工产生妇人之仁。
Ying-jie satisfies Chen-bo's every need for his loyalty to the company and discusses Chen-bo's work with Su-xin, knowing they are siblings.
Chen-bo is infatuated with Maggie despite her outrageous credit card bills. He stumbles on a set of confidential documents and quits in a fury.
Bi-er invites Ying-jie and Su-xin to a night club party. Ying-jie gets into a fight and makes cover news. He's suspended and has time for love.
Chen-bo rethinks his resignation. The psychiatrist's diagnosis of Su-xin surprises Ying-jie. Guo-zhi's passionate overtures worry his parents.
Ying-jie visits the Chen family to save Ding-he's face. Everyone congratulates Chen-bo on his promotion. Ying-jie makes a full confession of his love.
Chen-bo tells Ying-jie about their difference in social status. Maggie wants to seduce her way up. Will Su-xin say yes to Guo-zhi's proposal?
Chen-bo, disheartened, is arrested for peddling on the street. Chen-bo deliberately avoids Guo-zhi. Ding-he learns the truth and has a stroke.
Ding-he's illness pains the family. Chen-bo and Su-xin stage fake weddings to make him feel better, but it hurts and confuses Ying-jie.
Ding-he stops Chen-bo from returning to his trade in Taipei. Ying-jie misunderstands Su-xin, who is also heartbroken over her love for him.
Ding-he is disappointed by Chen-bo over the computer incident. The jobless Chen-bo still makes Guo-fen happy and she falls deeper in love with him.
Su-xin learns to live independently in Taipei. Ying-jie saves Su-xin from an accident and the two meet by chance at a wedding. They finally make up.
The elders support Guo-fen and Chen-bo's relationship. Chen-bo thinks Guo-fen is not serious about marriage. Ying-jie plans a future with Su-xin.
Bi-er interrupts a video call between Ying-jie and Su-xin. The coffee shop manager is heartbroken to discover that Su-xin has a boyfriend.
Bi-er makes excuses to stay at Ying-jie's place and acts as the lady of the house. Ying-jie moves in with Su-xin and gives her a grand gift.
Guo-fen tells Chen-bo her feelings on their business trip. Ying-hao beats Manager Gao with an ashtray but blames it on Chen-bo.
Ying-jie suppresses his shock over the changes in succession. Su-xin delivers lunch to her lover. Chen-bo helps Guo-fen overcome her kabourophobia.
Mr. Zhao, the lawyer, finds out about the CEO's secret. Guo-fen starts her crab farming plan. Chen-bo feels threatened by Yi-ping.
Su-xin gently accompanies the unemployed Ying-jie. The crafty Zhao tempts Ying-jie with power and Chen-bo decides to give up on Guo-fen.
Ying-jie does not want to give up the development project. He chooses his career over Su-xin and leaves her. Chen-bo decides to go into shipping.
