Mika Kuraishi (26), an announcer of NNJ TV, has been in the station for the fourth year. He is a sub-caster in charge of the sports corner of the night news program. At 4:04 pm on December 2, 2019, there was a major earthquake of magnitude 7.3 with the epicenter in Tokyo. As the main caster was involved in the earthquake, Mika volunteered for news editor-in-chief Eguchi to "use herself." Mika tells the unprecedented damage at the news center of the turmoil. The relay crew was caught in a fire and died, and while being overwhelmed by numerous damage images, he managed to finish the broadcast on the first day, but he lost contact with his sister.
After dawn, the damage situation becomes clear. An urban area that was blown away by a fire whirl. Mika is distressed by the ever-increasing number of victims, but is angry at the fact that more hoaxes have killed her in an accident. During the broadcast, Mika communicates over the phone with a woman trapped in a building. While giving words of encouragement to a woman in an extreme situation, she feels a strong sympathy and repeats the appearance of her younger sister who is still missing. The staff working at the news center have also lost their families and partners. What can I do? Mika has a feeling of helplessness. There, "wide area communication down" attacks at once, and the means of communication with my sister is cut off.
On the third day, signs of recovery of urban functions begin to appear. Mika was also desperately looking for her sister's whereabouts. Some of the staff who have been canned since the disaster have reached the limits of their physical strength and energy. Those who work at broadcast stations are also a group of injured victims. Rescue work for a woman trapped in a building begins. One more day until 72 hours, which is a guideline for survival. Mika watches over with a strong spit. However, at that point, the largest aftershock after the disaster hits Tokyo. A studio that shakes greatly.
Due to the biggest aftershock yesterday, the functioning capital that was recovering was lost again. Large-scale landslides have occurred in various places, and the damage is only increasing. Furthermore, it can be seen that the embankment in eastern Tokyo is about to collapse and water may flow into the city. Over tens of thousands of people are at risk of life. However, the information is on the Internet, and the information is not completely behind the scenes. Mika and her colleagues are forced to make the ultimate choice, every second, whether to broadcast unconfirmed information to save lives.
